The powersports process
How powersports certification works
Powersports certification follows five steps, applied to an individual unit through a participating powersports dealer or installation program.
Step 1: Protect
Qualifying protection is professionally applied through a participating powersports dealer or installation program.
Step 2: Document
The unit, installed protection, installation date and participating provider are documented.
Step 3: Register
The unit is connected to its digital record through FORGED CONNECT™.
Step 4: Certify
An individual FORGED CERTIFIED™ credential may be issued when all applicable program requirements are satisfied.
Step 5: Verify
The owner, participating dealer or future buyer can access and verify the applicable certification record.

A powersports record is created for an individual unit. Availability depends on the participating dealer or installation program and the applicable program configuration.

Units are identified using VIN, HIN or unit identification information, when applicable, so each unit carries its own record.

Any contractual coverage, terms, limits or ownership benefits are defined by the participating provider and the written program documents supplied at the point of sale.
FORGED CERTIFIED™
The documentation and verification layer: what was applied to this unit, by whom and when, registered through FORGED CONNECT™ and verifiable by the owner, dealer or a future buyer.
The protection product is not the certification. Purchasing or applying a product does not automatically make a unit FORGED CERTIFIED. Certification is issued only when the applicable protection, documentation, registration and program requirements are satisfied.

For a participating powersports dealer or installation program, certification turns a protection sale into a documented record that can be shown, verified and carried forward at trade-in or resale.
Evidence instead of assurance
Rather than describing what was applied, the provider can show a registered record connected to the unit identification information.

The protection applied, the program documents and the certification record are presented together at delivery.

FC-VPS 01 is the FORGED automotive vehicle protection standard and does not automatically govern powersports. Powersports program availability, protection systems, contractual coverage and any ownership benefits are determined by the participating dealer and program configuration, and are governed by the written program terms provided at the point of sale.
